How do I change the asset type or conditions if I made a mistake?

It can happen that you have selected the wrong asset type or incorrect conditions when adding an asset in Artion. Fortunately, you can easily adjust this via the platform. In this article, we explain how to change the asset type and conditions and what to consider before making changes.

After adding a new asset, you can update it by navigating to the asset details. You can do this via the general dashboard or the site dashboard. Search for the correct asset and click on it to open its details.

In the bar where the name of the asset is displayed, you will find three vertical dots to open a menu. At the top of that menu, you will see ‘Edit asset’. By clicking on this, you can adjust the asset type and conditions.

Keep in mind that these changes can impact existing inspections if they have already been scheduled. It’s important to check this before changing the asset type. For newly added assets, the chance is minimal, but for assets that have existed for some time, we recommend reviewing scheduled inspections first.

What should you consider?

Impact on existing inspections

If an inspection has already been scheduled for this asset, changing the asset type or conditions can affect the inspection frequency and legal requirements. Make sure to check for any open or planned inspections before making adjustments.

New assets vs. existing assets

  • For newly added assets, the risk of impact is low.
  • For existing assets, it is strongly recommended to check what inspections have already been planned or completed before making any changes.
