My tank has an orange score. What should I pay attention to?

When your tanks receive an orange score after an inspection by a certified environmental expert, this means there are remarks that require action. In this article, we explain what steps to take and share an important regulatory update regarding rejected tanks starting in 2025.

Take action for an orange score

Contact the installer of the tanks as soon as possible to address the remarks.

Make sure the issues are resolved before the re-inspection to avoid further complications.

Regulatory update from 1 January 2025 (red score)

For tanks used for the storage of hazardous liquids (inspections according to sections 5.6, 5.17, or 6.5 of Vlarem-II):

  • Tanks that receive a red score and are rejected (marked with a red plate) must be reported to the local authority.
  • Responsibility: From 1 January 2025, this reporting obligation will shift from the operator to the inspection body performing the inspection.
