What are the inspection requirements for electricity?

Electrical installations must be inspected periodically by a recognised EDTC (Recognised Expert for Supervision and Control). The inspection requirements and frequency differ depending on the type of installation. In this article, we provide an overview of the inspection requirements for low-voltage, high-voltage, and thermographic inspections.

Low voltage

Industrial:

Inspection required every 5 years.

Domestic:

Inspection required every 25 years.

Annual inspection:

High-voltage installations must be inspected annually.

Not legally required:

Thermographic inspections are not mandatory but are sometimes requested by insurance companies.

The frequency is often determined by the insurer.
