Which types of executors can be appointed?
When carrying out inspections and certifications of installations and equipment, various parties are involved, each with specific responsibilities. In this article, we explain the roles of an internally authorised person, a maintenance company, an EDTC, and a certified company.
Responsibilities per party
Internally authorised person
Task:
- Carries out inspections on installations.
- Records inspections in a logbook.
Training:
The person must be trained to perform inspections correctly and according to the regulations.
Maintenance company
Task:
- Often the installer or supplier of the installation.
- Performs inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
Examples of work:
- Periodic maintenance of installations.
- Repairing defects.
EDTC (Recognised Service for Technological Inspections)
Task:
- Performs legal certifications only.
- Cannot be involved in maintenance or repairs.
Specialisation:
Ensures compliance with legal requirements and safety standards.
Important:
An EDTC certifies but does not repair or maintain installations.
Certified company
Task:
- Conducts inspections.
- Can repair and replace equipment.
Application:
Often called in for specialised tasks that go beyond standard maintenance.
